Jordan Berns is a commercial litigator and transactional lawyer with extensive experience representing parties in real estate, contract, business tort, securities, and partnership matters in both federal and state trial and appellate courts. He also has substantial experience representing clients before municipal architectural review boards, boards of zoning appeals, planning commissions, and councils.

In the real estate area, Mr. Berns has litigated and tried zoning, land use, construction, commercial landlord/tenant, mechanic's lien, and lending disputes. Mr. Berns also has extensive experience litigating insurance coverage disputes on behalf of property owners. In addition, he has counseled clients regarding, and litigated, corporate governance disputes involving partnerships, closely-held companies, and publicly-traded corporations. Mr. Berns has litigated contract disputes under the Uniform Commercial Code involving everything from plush toys to high quality steel. He has substantial experience representing both companies and individuals throughout the country in trade secret and unfair competition disputes and in actions involving enforcement of noncompetition and nonsolicitation covenants. He also represents both plaintiffs and defendants in fraud claims and claims for tortious interference with business relations and contracts.

As a transactional lawyer, Mr. Berns has represented purchasers, sellers, landlords, tenants, lenders and borrowers in a wide variety of transactions involving industrial, retail, office, and residential properties including the purchase and sale of real estate, commercial loans, leases, and construction contracting. He also has represented buyers and sellers of businesses.

Mr. Berns belongs to the Ohio and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations.
